Easter 2010

Easter was really special for us this year. Benjamin and Anna are getting old enough to where they can really enjoy all the fun activities that this special holiday brings and Benjamin really understands the importance of Jesus' death and resurrection, which was really fun to see develop for him this year.

First up was our church's egg hunt. It was sunny when we left the house and right when the hunt was to start it started raining. That didn't stop us though! Waiting for the horn to signal them to start collecting eggs......

As soon as the horn blew, Benjamin was off!

Anna however, got spooked by all the people and activity and started crying and needed to be held by Momma for most of it. If you look closely you can see the big tears. :(

After a few minutes of cuddling, she wasn't so nervous and got down and started collecting some eggs. She had help from some of our church family too, like Teresa....

Got it!

Yay!

Benjamin ended up with a pretty full basket. He told us, "Anna got some eggs, but not a lot like I did!"

Quick family picture before escaping from the breezy, sprinkly sky.

Easter has created a love for chocolate for Anna. I couldn't tell you how many chocolate eggs this girl has had (nor would I want to admit how many, if I could)! :)

Pleased with his collection of candies!

Collin got to explore an Easter egg too!

And Anna enjoyed some more chocolate!

The Easter bunny was hard at work that night.....

He hid the baskets in the basement. Since Benjamin gets up hours before Anna, he has to be sneaky like that! ;) Here's Daddy and Collin documenting the excited trek down the stairs...

You've got to love all the anticipation, excitement, and joy little ones experience on these days!

Benjamin was so sweet and helped Anna look through her basket to see some of what she got before checking out his own!

Mmmm, brownies!!!

Here he is being sweet again and trying to find a brownie for Anna!

And of course there were more chocolate eggs!

Look!

More chocolate, please!

The big hit were these umbrellas. They played with them constantly for days!

Collin got these monkey keys that he LOVES!

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday. Our church service was a play of the last supper, Jesus' time in the garden, his death, and resurrection. Benjamin got so into it! He had trouble seeing all the actors, so I took him to the front pew so that he could see better. He watched the whole thing completely enthralled. He asked questions and it was obvious that he understood so much about Jesus! Such a special time for a parent to see your child's faith developing and growing! The kids wore cute coordinating outfits, so I of course had to snap my camera away at them later....

Loving his umbrella!

Sometimes it seems as though Anna gets prettier each day!

The trees outside the front of our house are blooming and look so beautiful!

She's a happy girl!

I sat all three kids on our deck after Collin woke up to get some pictures of them in their Easter outfits. I burst out laughing when I loaded them and saw this first shot.......

Below is proof that it is really hard to get a good shot of all three kids at the same time. They took turns 1-2 at a time smiling nicely, but never all three.

I thought this was a neat shot.

A couple were so cute of Benjamin and Collin in their matching sweater vests, that I cropped to the two of them (Anna was getting up and down).

And then I had to crop in on this cute one of Anna.

Still can't get all three to smile at the same time....

No matter when they smile, they are all three happy healthy kiddos and we are extremely blessed!

And this little guy has become quite the photograph poser!

Dave and I were trying to be artistic and pose Collin next to this flower.....

He grabbed it and pulled it into his mouth for a taste before we could stop him. He didn't like the little taste he got!

Collin has found a new love. He sits in this bouncer chair and jumps up and down like crazy the whole time he's in it. He enjoys it so much!!!

We had a lot of fun dying eggs this year!

Benjamin was sooo happy doing it!

Anna liked the eggs before they were dyed. She would hold them up to me and say, "this egg white!"

Anna's hair is now long enough to go in a nice pony tail. She isn't very excited when I put it in, but tells me it's pretty afterwards. She looks so much older when I put her hair up!

It looks wet b/c I spray it with a detangler before I comb it, so it won't hurt her. Pretty long pony tail, huh?
