4th of July Lake House Reunion

We went to Tennessee to spend a week with all of Dave's family for the 4th. It was a really fun week and so great to have everyone together. We drove down Wednesday night and got there past bedtime. The next morning Benjamin was so excited to be with all of his cousins and was running around excitedly when he tripped and landed head first on a toy garage. He was bleeding a lot and it was quite the laceration so we loaded him in the car and drove (close to 30 minutes!) to the hospital. He ended up needing three stitches and did so great with them! I was so proud of him (but hope to never have to do that again)!!!

Poor guy!

He couldn't get it wet for two days, so his Daddy took him on lots of fishing trips to keep him occupied. These poor guys tried so hard, but never even got a bite!

We enjoyed morning walks....

Anna loves her baby!

And Benjamin loves his Collin!

Saturday was Daddy's birthday. The kids and their cousin, Jack, were very happy to help him open presents!

Daddy (acting) surprised by the new computer backpack inside. (Anna busted me and told him what his present was a few weeks ago : P )

The kids were so excited to show Daddy their cards. Benjamin wrote out a message on the outside using words he's learned in school and was really proud of his work! : )

Benjamin got to get wet by Saturday and was very excited to do so! He spent most of the day in the two little pools that Dave's parents had set up. This was a fun time when all the cousins (and their Daddy's) went for a swim in as Collin calls it the "big pool".

Grandma and Grandpa joined in the fun too!

That evening we had birthday cake of course!

I love this picture!!!

Everybody loved their cake and ice cream!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Collin enjoyed some firsts this week. He had his first ice cream cone.....

and his first apple. He's loved apples for quite a while, but was really happy when he got his hands on a full apple like his siblings and cousins had!

All the cousins in their 4th of July outfits.....(Will, Jack, Luke, Anna, Benjamin, and Collin (who is working on another apple)

Happy 4th of July!!!

We enjoyed lots of fun playtime in the pools that Grandma and Grandpa set up for us....

There was silliness as well (of course!).

Collin continues to confuse me. He's terrified of taking a bath, but loves being in a pool. Go figure! He's very peculiar about it though, he wants there to only be toys that people are holding. If there's something floating in the water he freaks out!

Collin and his cousin, Luke, were good buddies eating together. Benjamin was also really sweet with Luke and would tell me over and over how much he loved Luke and how cute he was. :) Wish we could see him more often!

Anna LOVES her Kathy!!! She was in heaven getting so much time with her and Mike!

When we got back into town it was time to get Benjamin's stitches out. He did great when the nurse took them out and was really brave about it! The next day it got hit with a basketball and swelled back up some and it bled a little bit. That made me really nervous for the next few days but thankfully we had no more incidents and it looks well healed together now. Whew! Glad that's over!!!

I'll have more pictures to post once I steal them from Grandpa of our time on the boat and going for tube rides and swimming in the lake with the kids for the first time.
