Architectural Crawl

We were blessed to have some friends from college and their two kids come visit us this weekend. The kids had a great time playing together again. Here they all are sitting down to dinner. Our friend, Lindsay joked they would have to come back in a month or so, so we could get a picture after Anna's birthday as they would be aged 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 then. :)

Daddy and Collin enjoying the Saturday morning newspaper together. When Dave is at work, Collin walks around and finds newspapers and tells me "Dada! Dada!" over and over again.

I think Dave should start a little Daddy Daycare. He was on fire entertaining all five kids! Here they are having a morning tea party.

We live in a city with lots of "architecturally significant" buildings. Dave (as a former tour guide) is very proud and excited by this. Since it's February and too cold to do much, Dave decided to improvise on how to entertain our guests. They actually have a bus architecture tour, but Dave created his own and since he was entertaining little ones he renamed it an "Architecture Crawl". As you can imagine, he was VERY proud of himself and insisted the kids had to do a picture with each stop! Shockingly enough his first stop was to a statue of an engine.....

The big kids pretending to hold up the engine.

Our bike rack Cs that are all over town.

Inside the visitor center, Dave gave the kids clues to find different things. With this one he told them he needed them to find where he hung up the largest ornament....

Then we went to our pretty bridge....

and then it was time for a lunch break at a refurbished ice cream shop. Here are the kids all proud after they finished off a huge ice cream. I believe it was five scoops, two toppings, plus whipped cream and sprinkles. They were pretty happy!

I think Anna looks so big/old here. She's going to be three very soon!!!

More fun bar stool photos....

Back to Dave's Daddy Daycare. ;) He gave the kids a riveting post nap story time.

See Collin's little fist? I love how Anna was rubbing Burke's hair as they read. We had a wonderful visit. Thanks for coming, friends!!!
